After winning their 5th straight PIAA State Championship, the La Salle College High School Swim Team has been named the 2016 High School National Champions in the September Edition of Swimming World Magazine.

Based on the 2015-16 season statistics, World Swimming Magazine used the times to create a mock national championship competition with the Explorers outscoring Upper Dublin High School 119.5 to 105.0. Last year's winner and six-time national champion Bolles High School in Jacksonville, finished 3rd. La Salle finished 2nd last year in the national rankings.

Jake Sannem '17 finished 2nd nationally in the 500 Freestyle and 4th nationally in the 200 Freestyle. Greg Brocato '16 finished 4th nationally in the 50 Free and 10th in the 100 Free.

The 200 Free Relay team of Sannem, Brocato, Sean Finlay '16 & Joe Vizza '16 finished 2nd nationally in the 200 free relay, just 6-hundredths behind the 1st place relay team. The 400 Free Relay Team of Sannem, Vizza, Jacob Lubinski '17, and Brocato finished 3rd.

This is the first time La Salle has been named National High School Champions in school history.
