Swim Team Wins Last Home Meet of Season; Turn Focus To 28th Straight PCL Title

The PCL Championships will take place February 12th & 13th at La Salle University.

The La Salle College High School Swim Team defeated Archbishop Carroll in their last home meet of the season on Wednesday, January 20. The team will have two more meets this season before the Championship Meets of PCLs, Districts, and States.

The Explorers will swim against Archbishop Wood and will close its regular season against St. Joe's Prep on Tuesday, February 2nd at La Salle University. Seniors from both teams will be recognized, which has become a tradition between the two schools. The moms of the La Salle senior swimmers will also be recognized.

During this season, 2 pool records have been broken.

· On 12/15/15 against Roman, the La Salle Pool record for the 200 Medley Relay was broken. The old record from 2012 was 1.37:34. The new record is 1.36:65. The relay team is Joe Vizza '16 (Back), Sean Finlay '16 (Breast), Jake Lubinski '17 (Fly), and Greg Brocato '16 (Free).

· At the Judge Meet on 1/5/26, Jake Sannem '17 broke the 200 freestyle pool record held by Ted Walker '09. Ted's time was 1:44.73. Jake's time and new pool record is 1:43.86.

Led by Captains Greg Brocato '16, Sean Finlay '16, and Joe Vizza '16, the team is training hard to get ready for the remaining meets of the season with eyes set firmly towards the PIAA State Championship on March 16th and 17th. The Explorers are the reigning 4-time PIAA State Champions.
