The La Salle Water Polo Team honored 1st Lt Travis Manion, USMC '99 in what has become a traditional service project for the team. Working with the Travis Manion Foundation, the team created 300 care packages for the troops stationed at Camp Manion in Iraq.

The team organized a letter writing campaign during lunch periods which produced over 250 holiday letters written to the troops by our students and faculty. With donations from the water polo team, the players filled 300 bags in the library after school on November 2nd. Each bag contained a personal holiday letter, playing cards, crossword puzzles, Sudoku puzzles, hacky sacks, chap stick, granola bars, chewing gum, blank note cards, blank Christmas cards, pens, individual drink packets, and candy. The care packages filled 17 large boxes which were taped and delivered to the Travis Manion Foundation in Doylestown.

The care packages will be shipped to Camp Manion in time for the holidays with the hope that our American Heroes, the service men and women stationed in Iraq, will know that they will not be forgotten this Christmas.
