MEDIA PROGRAM

WEXPtv is La Salle College High School's student-run media network which provides multimedia content for the La Salle Community through various school-afilliated media outlets.

Students produce a weekly news broadcast focusing on the events of the week at La Salle including academics, activities, athletics, the arts and student life.  Students also get hands-on experience in video editing, content creation, social media, photography, podcasting and digital marketing.

Students can get involved with WEXPtv by enrolling in a media production course or signing up by contacting Mr. Johnson - La Salle's Director of Digital Strategy and Digital Media and Communication Concentration Coordinator.

New Digital Media and Communication Concentration

Digital Media and Communication

In 2023,La Salle College High School will launch a Digital Media and Communication Concentration Program that will expose students to an assortment of careers in media that are constantly evolving. Students will use the WEXPtv Media Program’s state-of-the-art studio to jumpstart themselves on paths towards careers in journalism, video production, social media, digital marketing, public relations, Esports and various other iterations of content creation. Students will incorporate Digital Media Tools from Adobe Creative Cloud, become Certified Professionals through our partnership with Certiport and produce award-winning content for La Salle College High School, as well as for their own personal brands.

Mr. McNamara’s Return to La Salle Illustrates a New Shift in Lasallian Education

After graduating from La Salle 37 years ago, Mr. McNamara has returned to the school in a whole new role. He, along with Brother Tony, has been essential in planning out the global business initiative in La Salle’s new Business Concentration. Mr. McNamara's experience creating and running Bubba Dogs, a mobile weinery, enables him to provide students with a first-hand account of business ownership.

Meet Jason Jiang.  "I was just a boy from Kensington who had seen the worst of poverty, gun violence, and drug abuse. It is hard going through life constantly hearing a pop, seeing the disheveled and poorly dressed people on the street, and watching people close to you fall into the wrong crowd and fall victim to addiction. Making the shift from an underprivileged school to a wealthy, private school was a big decision to make, but I was motivated to get my way out of the city and make a better life for myself.”
