The Physical Education program at La Salle is made up of a semester of organized activities in gym and/or outdoor athletic facilities, and a semester of aquatics and water safety activities in the pool during two of a student’s four years at the school. The program tries to take into account the needs of both the individual and the group, and as such, it permits each student to progress at his own level of ability.
The Health course is designed to help students identify the physical, psychological, social, hereditary, and environmental factors that affect health. Wit this knowledge the student should be able to develop a plan for maintaining good overall health. Specific topics covered include: physical and mental health, nutrition, drug and alcohol abuse, and sexually transmitted diseases.
