La Salle College High School’s leadership in educational innovation continues a 340-year tradition of adaptation and courage inspired by Saint John Baptist de La Salle. As artificial intelligence reshapes education and society, we remain committed to ensuring that technology serves our mission and supports the holistic formation of every student entrusted to our care.

By leading responsibly, learning continuously, and innovating with purpose, La Salle prepares young men to think critically, act ethically, and flourish in a world and in careers shaped by both human and artificial intelligence.

La Salle will lead with reflection and collaboration so that innovation always serves our educational mission.

The AI Task Force will coordinate planning, policy, and evaluation, ensuring ethical and effective use across campus.
School leaders will model discernment in adopting AI tools that enhance learning, deepen understanding, and increase efficiency and effectiveness.
Decisions around AI will be made through transparent, collaborative processes that continually examine how technology influences human development.

2. Promote AI Literacy

Understanding AI is part of forming informed, technology-literate citizens.

Students will learn how AI functions, its potential and its limits, and its social and ethical implications.
Faculty will integrate AI concepts connecting technical learning with creativity and ethical use.
All members of the community will be encouraged to approach AI with curiosity and healthy scrutiny.

3. Provide Ethical Guidance

Clear expectations sustain trust in our learning community.

La Salle will maintain policies that protect privacy, academic honesty, and the dignity of each learner.

The creation of the LSCHS AI Vision Statement was crafted using human ingenuity and collaboration first and foremost. Researching several high schools and colleges with AI guidelines and various Lasallian influences sparked an opportunity for committee members to adapt certain components to meet LSCHS standards for our staff and high school-aged students.

Committee members collaborated not only with each other but with generative AI sources to help organize ideas, adapt language for intended audiences, and suggest ideas for consideration. The committee members relied upon their experience with AI and their ability to communicate effectively with one another and colleagues in their schools to strengthen their final recommendations for these guidelines.
