Volunteers

The La Salle Volunteer Program began in September of 1998 with two graduates from the class of 1994. Our volunteers join us for one year. Their work involves some classroom commitments, substituting for absent teachers, participating in the school's retreat program, moderating school activities, assisting in the school's community service program, assisting in development efforts, and devoting their time and effort in service to La Salle and its students. In addition, volunteers develop an extended academic, research or service project under the direction of a faculty or staff member. The project will be geared to the volunteer’s talents and interests. It’s a great experience—and great experience.

Letters will been mailed inviting the Class of 2016 to consider a similar volunteering of service for the 2020-2021 school year. If you will be graduating from college in May of 2020 and if the opportunity for a year of volunteer service at our alma mater interests you, we would like to hear from you.

Everything you need to apply is here on this page. If you have any questions, please call 215-233-2911.

Make a Gift

There are a number of different ways to make a gift to La Salle and numerous initiatives that your gift can be directed towards.

Alumni Service Award Winners

William J. Whelan '55 Alumni Service Award

The Alumni Service Award was established in 2001 in an effort to recognize the dedicated and consistent service of an alumnus to La Salle College High School. The award is presented in memory of William J. Whelan '55, a man of both kindness and principle, who at all times was a loyal son of La Salle. Bill was a friend and teacher, and the identification of this award to his life reflects the true spirit of his service to La Salle and its alumni.
