Concussion Awareness
All coaches at La Salle College High School are required to complete the ConcussionWise Certification for Coaches. Through this certification, coaches learn about concussions, as well as steps to prevent and properly care for concussions when they occur.
All student-athletes participate in the ImPACT Testing. ImPACT provides computerized neurocognitive assessment tools and services that are used by medical doctors, psychologists, athletic trainers, and other licensed healthcare professionals to assist them in determining an athlete's ability to return to play after suffering a concussion.
Parents of our student-athletes are also encouraged to enroll in the free ConcussionWise Course for Parents. It is important that Parents also understand concussion basics, as well as steps to prevent and properly care for concussions when they occur.
All Freshmen and Juniors are required to take a concussion baseline test through ImPACT. Freshmen will take their test during their technology orientation sessions in August.
