La Salle Rugby XVs is the 2022 Rugby PA State Champions! 

La Salle won a tight, hard-fought match against #1 seed, St. Joseph’s Prep, 19-15, on Sunday, May 22nd, to bring home the program’s first ever state championship since the team was established in Spring, 2013. La Salle Rugby XV’s finished their RugbyPA season undefeated, going 7-0. Santiago Sturla, Class of 2022, was named RugbyPA’s Player of the Year, as voted on by coaches across the state for his outstanding performance over the course of the season. Additionally, RugbyPA announced Head Coach, Jessica Nedzwecky, as the 2022 RugbyPA Mark Davis Coach of the Year recipient. 

For 2023, La Salle Rugby XVs will have 4 teams. Varsity Gold will compete in RugbyPA Division 1. Varsity Blue will compete in RugbyPA Division 2. For the first time, La Salle will have an all-freshmen team competing in RugbyPA Juniors Division. These three teams will be eligible to play for the PA State Championship in their respective divisions. Additionally, La Salle will have a Junior Varsity program to foster the development of new players learning the sport of rugby.
