While we gather as a faith community, we also provide each student the opportunity to reflect on their own spiritual journey through our retreat program. Freshmen, sophomores, and juniors attend one day retreats on campus that are organized by Campus Ministry as well as faculty and upperclassmen. The themes for the retreats are aligned with the religion course for that year.
Seniors have the option of participating in one of our six Kairos retreats or a one-day retreat, all of which are held off campus. The Kairos retreats take place over four days and three nights. The Greek word Kairos means “special time of the Lord.” It is a unique opportunity for our seniors to grow in faith, as well as grow as a senior class.
In addition, each year students are given the opportunity to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation twice a year.
Kairos is a four-day, three-night retreat held several times throughout the school year. The students and their leaders spend “special time” with the Lord, reflecting on their relationship with God, self, and others. The retreat is led by faculty/staff and student volunteers.
If you have any special prayer intentions for our retreatants, please e-mail them to Kairos@lschs.org no later than the Monday before the scheduled Kairos departure.
