Device of Choice Program
La Salle College High School’s Technology Vision seeks to provide an environment that empowers students through access to technology for the communication of information and ideas. To that end, La Salle’s Device of Choice Program will allow students to utilize the device with which they are most comfortable to access La Salle’s technology infrastructure.
In response to the technology use survey, La Salle recognizes the desire of students and parents to choose the devices students will use while in school. The Device of Choice program lets students continue to develop their technological skills while using a device that meets their personal educational needs.

La Salle College High School is pleased to provide an environment in which students, faculty, and staff can connect their personally-owned computers and network-capable mobile devices to the network and gain access to their La Salle accounts and the Internet. In order to gain the most benefit from this the Office of Information Technology does make recommendations for minimum computer configurations.
In most cases a computer purchased within the last three years will be sufficient for connection to La Salle’s network. If you have any questions regarding whether your computer meets the requirements, you can print this page and visit your local computer store to have their staff confirm its compatibility with the network.
Chromebooks, iPads, and Android tablets are not suitable devices for school use and will not be permitted. While these devices may connect to La Salle’s network, the Office of Information Technology cannot guarantee that all features necessary for classroom use will work with these devices and cannot be supported.
La Salle’s Office of Information Technology will hold Tablet Orientation days in August for all incoming freshmen. At that orientation, students will receive help in connecting to La Salle’s network, accessing the student portal, setting up email on their device, and more. Students who are experiencing software and connectivity issues with their device can come to the Office of Information Technology for assistance. The Support Center will also aid in directing students to the proper channels for hardware support.
All students are required to have a charged device with them each day. To that end, responsibility for the safety and security of personal devices lies with the student. Students have the option of purchasing optional Accidental Damage Protection for their device. Additionally, insurance policies that cover stolen devices are available through third parties.
August Intro Sessions for Incoming Freshmen
Sessions will be held in the McShain Library in Saint Michael Hall. We will begin promptly at the scheduled time so please plan to arrive with about ten minutes early with your device fully charged for this hands on session.
