The IST Department at La Salle offers over 20+ computer science courses covering networking, program and digital design.
La Salle College High School supports one of the most advanced networks available in secondary education. As a nationally-recognized leader in technology, La Salle’s wireless campus allows for high-speed internet access while The Lab Manager Program prepares students for ongoing opportunities in the world of information technology.
La Salle has five computer labs for student use. Each has its own purpose and is used accordingly.
The Teaching lab is where all Information Science Courses (except for Information Literacy) are taught. Students use the machines to work with advanced 3-D models in AutoCAD, experiment with Virtual Machines in Windows IT Academy Courses, and enhance photos and videos with the Adobe Creative Suite in Multimedia Production.

The Main Lab gives students without a portable device a place to go to work on projects and research. The Main Lab has the full Adobe Creative Cloud suite installed so students have a place to edit photos and videos outside of their scheduled classes.

The Research Lab can be signed out by teachers for use instead of their usual classroom. This allows classes where not all students have a personal device to take advantage of online learning.

The Midi Lab is used by the Music Department for the Music Business and Technology Course where students create their own Music. The Midi Lab is the only Mac Lab in La Salle.

Students produce a weekly 10-minute online broadcast focusing on life at La Salle. All students in the program get access to the Adobe Creative Cloud to create digital content at school and at home. You can view the show live online during the school year at www.youtube.com/wexptv.
In addition to producing a live daily show, the TV studio and Multimedia Editing Computer Lab are an integral part of La Salle's Digital Multimedia Curriculum. La Salle offers three levels of Multimedia Production Courses: Multimedia Productions, Advanced Multimedia Productions and Multimedia Management. Students gain hands-on experience using the latest digital technology to shoot, edit and share digital content using the Adobe Creative Suite. To see examples of our student work visit the multimedia gallery and La Salle's YouTube Channel.
The TV Studio also serves as the centerpiece of the Sports Information Club - a club that updates the school community about the latest news about La Salle's Athletic department including video highlights, interviews, and podcasts with our coaches and athletes. You can find more info about the Sports Information Club at www.twitter.com/LaSalle_Sports.
Thirty virtual servers running Microsoft Windows Server 2012 R2 support the network. These thirty servers are in a virtual environment on eight physical host servers. Virtualization allows the servers to move between the eight physical machines. If one of the eight fails, the virtual servers are relocated to another physical server to continue running smoothly and without any down time noticed by teachers and students. Virtualization has also greatly reduced energy consumption as well as La Salle’s carbon footprint.
