Internship Opportunities

In 2018 Brother James Butler and Mr. O’Toole envisioned a program to enhance our students’ experience in preparing for college and the real world. They asked Michael Cassidy to start the Careers Advisory Program. It focuses on rising juniors and rising seniors who wish to find shadow opportunities and short-term internships in the areas in which they have an interest.

The first summer had 7 participants and each year the program has grown. During 2025, the program had 82 young men involved in various positions that varied in length from one day to a few months long. Most of the positions were 3 to 5 days in length and most were not compensated as our young men recognize the great value is in having the real-world experience. While some students took advantage of opportunities over the holidays or during spring break, most were during the summer.

In 2025, about 25 alums, present and past parents, and friends of LSCHS were generous enough to provide the opportunities. These included but were not limited to construction, construction management, engineering (structural, electrical, civil, mechanical, etc.) commercial real estate, real estate management/development, health care, law, law enforcement, psychology, marketing, finance, sales, architecture, data analytics, personal training, aviation, marine biology, cyber security, IT and computer science.
